The evening program will feature a performance of “Meetinghouse Corner,” a “reading for several voices,” written by Raymond Stineford, formerly a South Eaton resident. This dramatic presentation was originally performed in 2002 at the meetinghouse, and was accompanied by slide photos prepared by the late Bruce Acker, a teacher at Kennett High School. It is an imaginative dramatization of the time when the meetinghouse was constructed in l844 by Stephen Allard. Stephen is heard talking about his work, and other voices speak, including that of a child whose death is grieved over by his parents. A deacon drones out from the minutes of a meeting. The voices in the current performance are provided by Dennis Sullivan and Rev. Mary Edes, with Ray as the narrator. Eleanor Jenkins has prepared new images for the performance.
