Thanksgiving Worship Service with the Rev. Mary Edes
The Reverend Mary Giles Edes will lead the South Eaton Meeting House annual Thanksgiving service to be held on Sunday, November 18 at 3 PM. We will gather together at this historic building to sing familiar hymns and listen to the words of Rev. Mary. Her sermon is titled “At This Table: In the midst of life with all its complexities and beauty, we will gather together and remember what holds us in community”. Ray Stineford will accompany our singing on the reed organ.
The Reverend Mary Edes moved to Silver Lake in 2003, when she accepted a call to serve the UUFES as their minister – a role she enjoyed for nearly twelve years. Prior to entering the Unitarian Universalist ministry she spent many years in the NH Seacoast, where she was active in the theater and music community, and served as Director of Music at South Church UU in Portsmouth. Currently, she leads the Silver Lake Singers for Hospice and Healing and serves as a community minister and hospice chaplain, conducting weddings, child dedications, celebrations of life, and preaching in various congregations throughout New England.
